Yi-Ping Hou is a visual artist and lyric writer.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan. Having resided in Taiwan, Australia and The United

States, she draws on multi-cultural resources to carve out metaphors

for a personal as well as a shared human experience. 

Commissioned by the Taiwanese government to write the lyrics for the Taiwan Centennial. Also commissioned by the Taiwanese Tourist Bureau to compose 2 songs for Heart of Asia theme.

Hou wrote lyrics for The Thirty Six Stories feature film, as well as lyrics for a contemporary art performance as a part of the Joshua Triennial. Her fine art and art performance career has included work shown at the Guggenheim Museum, NY, dOCUMENTA(13), Germany, LACMA, Los Angeles
